Ravi Chaudhry is an Indian business leader, author and adviser to CEOs, corporate boards, family enterprises and governments. He is the founder chairman of CeNext Consulting Group and a former chairman of Tata Group companies, where he spent around a decade as CEO of five group companies.

Trained as a mechanical engineer, he built his career from the ground up, working as factory manager and general sales manager before moving into CEO and chairman roles across a wide range of manufacturing and service sectors. Over more than 35 years he has worked extensively on international strategic alliances and joint ventures, business strategy, global competitiveness and corporate governance.

Through CeNext he leads board dialogues and leadership programmes built around one central idea: organisations must see present reality clearly, free of the assumptions of the past, before they can shape their future. His work focuses on aligning short-term and long-term goals, earning the trust of all stakeholders, and rethinking how decisions are made. He holds that sustained performance in any domain depends on transparent governance, ethical leadership and responsible entrepreneurship. His clients have included Fortune 1000 companies and the governments of Switzerland, Turkey, Brazil, Austria, Norway, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands, among others.

His book Quest for Exceptional Leadership: Mirage to Reality introduces the concept of “leadership with a 720-degree view”, a perspective that looks outward at changing conditions and inward at the leader’s own assumptions. The futurist and economist Hazel Henderson called it the best handbook for corporate executives in years; a second edition appeared in 2016. He is currently working on a book about reinventing democracy and leadership.

He is a Fellow of the World Business Academy and of the Salzburg Global Seminar, Co-Chair of the EthicMark® Judges Panel in the USA, and a member of the Council for Inclusive Capitalism. He lives in New Delhi.
