Jenny Andersson is a regenerative designer and strategist, founder and director of The Really Regenerative Centre, which she started in March 2020 after some thirty years working in international development, brand strategy, communications and sustainability design. That earlier career led her to conclude that conventional sustainability approaches were not commensurate with the scale of the systemic crisis, and she turned to regenerative practice as the alternative.

Her work is grounded in place. Really Regenerative designs learning journeys for organisations, municipalities and communities on regenerative leadership, economics and bioregionalism, working from the premise that human activity is better organised around ecological and geographical boundaries than political ones. In 2024 she convened a global inquiry with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation into the conditions and capabilities that allow communities to steward regenerative transformation of their places at the depth and longevity the polycrisis demands. Her own place is Midhurst, Sussex, where the Centre’s bioregional work is concentrated.

She holds an MBA from London Business School and an MSc in Psychology, is a qualified Regenesis Regenerative Practitioner and an applied Biomimicry for Social Innovation practitioner, was a founding member of the design team for Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics Action Lab, and sits on the board of Coast2Capital, the local economic partnership for Sussex and Surrey.

A recurring theme in her writing is the separation between people and place, and between people themselves across cultural and economic lines. She treats the repair of that relationship as economic infrastructure rather than sentiment, arguing that bioregional identity offers a workable bridge out of a growth-dependent economy rather than a leap into the unknown.
