Aterah Nusrat, MSc, DIC, serves as both director of programming in integrative medicine and planetary health and senior program manager at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She has a background in environmental sustainability program management and holds a Master of Science in environmental technology from Imperial College and certificates in climate change and health from HarvardX and the Yale School of Public Health.

Before emigrating from the United Kingdom to the United States in 2007, Aterah was recognized by then-British Prime Minister Tony Blair MP for scaling a local, socially- and environmentally-responsible sustainability project into a multi-stakeholder national program. In 2019, she co-authored the paper entitled “Integrative Medicine is a Good Prescription for Patients and Planet.” She currently chairs the Osher Collaborative for Integrative Health’s Planetary Health Working Group and is a member of the program committee for the 2024 International Congress on Integrative Medicine and Health.

In parallel to her professional pursuits, from 1993-2013, Aterah was part of an international intentional spiritual community based on the eastern enlightenment lineage of Sri Ramana Maharshi. Through individual practice, intensive retreats and committed engagement with mentors, peers, and mentees, she experienced the heights, depths, and pitfalls of spiritual awakening, community, and the possibilities of bringing into being a shared experience of higher consciousness.

Aterah is committed to leveraging her personal and professional pursuits to bring alive and share with others the lived experience of our fundamental oneness with the natural world.
